Additional Pots:

 Calcutta

The Calcutta winners for this tournament will be determined by heaviest weight of the Biggest Stringer above.  In the event of a tie, winners will be determined by length.  Upon entry as a team, that team is eligible for the Calcutta prize money, and sign up will entitle that team to ½ of their “boat” or the winnings from Calcutta due to that team.  The other ½ of the boat will go up for auction at the captains meeting.

For those electing to fish individually, they must notify tournament directors prior to the Calcutta if they wish to be entered for consideration in the Calcutta, and if so, who they are fishing with, if anyone.  If fishing alone, they must solely notify directors so that they are included in Calcutta bidding.  If they are fishing with other individual entrants, all of those entrants will then be considered on a team, and will be treated as such in the Calcutta.  These individuals must fish together out of the same boat or together from shore if to be considered a team and be eligible for the Calcutta prize money.  If you or your team is not in on or bid on and bought in the Calcutta, then you are not eligible for the Calcutta prize.

Calcutta total purse will be spit with 50% going back to St. James, and 50% for the winners.  Of the remaining winnable money, the split for the winning boat for the Calcutta will be:

1st place 50%

2nd place 30%

3rd place 20%

Side Pots

For those who want to enter above and beyond the normal prized for winning, there will be individual side pots at $25 each for redfish, trout, drum and flounder. There will also be a $25 spot pot for redfish where the winners will be determined by the redfish with the most total spots.

The pot format is 60% of the total pot is payable to the winners of the side pot (of which 70% for 1st place and 30% for 2nd place), and 40% going back to St. James.

School Challenge

On the entry form, there will be a selection box, for those who choose to, to determine a local school which you will be fishing for/representing.  This selection will be for a traveling trophy that will be held for a year by the school selected by the winner of the heaviest stringer.  While there is no money involved in this category, there is going to be far more at stake, pride and bragging rights, for the winning school in this category as the best fishermen in the land.

Additional Information

The idea behind this tournament is to have some friendly competition, raise some money for St. James, and get together with friends and families to have a good time.  The after party/awards ceremony is going to be held at the Corpus Christi Yacht Club, and is going to be a true family affair.  The pool will be open for the kids to come and swim, and dinner for all involved.

The idea also is that unlike most fishing tournaments; we have a full 3 hours between the end of fishing and the end of weigh in.  This will allow plenty of time for those who would like to drop off the boat, get a shower, and come to the weigh in clean enough to have dinner and drinks with the spouse to do so.  In order to facilitate this option, fish cleaning will be available at the L Head Bait House adjacent to the Yacht Club for your catch after you weigh it in.  This will allow you clean up and be ready for an evening with friends.
